Read & Publish Agreements AND Publisher Discounts: MDPI

This guide explains the new Read & Publish open access agreements introduced for researchers by UC Library in 2022. These agreements remove fees (APCs) payable by authors for open access publishing to included publishers and journals

MDPI - Open Access Author Publishing Charge (APC) Discount

MDPI are providing a 10% discount on Article Processing Charges for Open Access Publishing

Please note: this is NOT a Read & Publish Agreement, simply a discount on APC fees

MDPI journals eligible for the discount

MDPI has not excluded any of their journals from this discount.

Article types eligible for the discount

  • Submitted manuscripts containing original research are eligible for the discount
  • Affiliated authors also receive a 10% discount on charges associated with open access book publishing with MDPI

Limitations on the discount

  • Only one discount per paper, and the discount cannot be combined with other available discounts (e.g., discount vouchers, or society membership discounts)
  • Any staff or student affiliated with the university qualify for the discount
