This guide explains the new Read & Publish open access agreements introduced for researchers by UC Library in 2022. These agreements remove fees (APCs) payable by authors for open access publishing to included publishers and journals
MDPI - Open Access Author Publishing Charge (APC) Discount
MDPI are providing a 10% discount on Article Processing Charges for Open Access Publishing
Please note: this is NOT a Read & Publish Agreement, simply a discount on APC fees
MDPI journals eligible for the discount
MDPI has not excluded any of their journals from this discount.
Article types eligible for the discount
Submitted manuscripts containing original research are eligible for the discount
Affiliated authors also receive a 10% discount on charges associated with open access book publishing with MDPI
Limitations on the discount
Only one discount per paper, and the discount cannot be combined with other available discounts (e.g., discount vouchers, or society membership discounts)
Any staff or student affiliated with the university qualify for the discount
