Off Campus Services incl. Document Delivery

This is a guide to the library's off-campus services for staff and students studying and working remotely.

How long can I keep my loans?

UC books are checked out for the following loan periods:

 User  Loan Period
 Staff  60 days
 HDR Student  60 days
 Postgraduate Student  60 days
 Undergraduate Student  60 days

Books from the UC General Collection can be renewed online through My Library Space.

The due date for an interlibrary loan varies, depending on the lending library. Renewals are at the discretion of the lender. Contact Document Services 2-3 days before the item is due to arrange a renewal.

You can borrow a maximum of 50 items at any one time.

It is your responsibility to ensure that items are returned to the Library by the designated due date. The usual fines and replacement charges will apply for late returns.

Can I place a hold on an item on loan to another borrower?

You may place a hold on an item that is currently on loan. You must be Signed In for this action.

Select the 'Request' icon in the record and complete the login to create a 'hold'.

  • You will be notified by your UC email when the item is available for collection.
  • Send an email to the Library to arrange for the retrieval and processing of an Off Campus loan.

Check your UC email regularly for notifications.

Items available for collection are held for a period of 4 days. If unclaimed, the hold will lapse.

How will my requests be delivered?

Loan and copy requests are usually dispatched within three working days of receipt of the request. Supply times may increase to five days during busy periods. You will be notified via email if a request cannot be supplied, or if there is a delay with supply.

The Library will pay the outward postage costs for loans. All items will be sent via Australia Post.

Where possible, copies of chapters and journal articles will be sent to your UC email address.

How do I return my loans?

All loans must be returned by the due date. Fines and charges may apply to any late returns. You are responsible for all return postage costs. Items must be returned in a padded bag to prevent damage.
