This guide provides you with information on finding key sources of Australian and international statistics and data.

Australian economics statistics

  • Australian Commodity Statistics: Produced by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES).
  • Australian Year Books: Provides a comprehensive overview of the economic and social conditions of contemporary Australia. Published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • Key Economic Indicators: A summary of Australia's key economic indicators published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • Measures of Australia's Progress: A summary of key social, environmental and economic national progress indicators complied by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

International economics statistics

  • World Development Indicators - World Bank DataBank, provides annual economic, social, labour, educational, environmental and health data compiled by the World Bank from officially-recognised international sources. Provides data from 1960 to the present. Population data is under Health.
  • OECD iLibrary - Provides statistics for OECD member countries on economics, finance, trade, industry, agriculture, energy, environment, labour, education, employment, health etc.
  • International Monetary Fund: Data - The IMF publishes a range of time series data on IMF lending, exchange rates and other economic and financial indicators. Manuals, guides, and other material on statistical practices at the IMF, in member countries, and of the statistical community at large are also available.
  • Unitied Nations - Monthly Bulletin of Statistics Online - The Monthly Bulletin of Statistics Online presents current economic and social statistics for more than 200 countries and territories of the world.
  • UNCTADstat - UNCTADstat (United Nations institution) provides free access to comprehensive statistical time series and indicators for analysis of world trade, development, and interrelated issues in the areas of finance, technology, investment and durable development.
  • Eurostat: Statistics and data on the European Union and its member states.
