Institutional Repositories

Institutional repositories are digital collections of the research outputs created within a research institution.

The UC Research Portal displays and promotes the research work of the University of Canberra staff and research students.

Institutional Repositories characteristics:

  • Not all content will be available in full text but thousands of items will be open access
  • Contains grey literature, mainly in the form of conference papers, theses, reports and research data
  • May contain various versions of works, e.g. published versions, author's peer reviewed versions or author's non-peer reviewed versions
  • The contents are harvested by and accessible via search engines such as Google and Google Scholar
