Open Educational Resources

Using an OER Textbook for unit delivery

Please consider using an OER textbook for your unit delivery.

Purchased eTextbooks may come with licensing conditions that restrict:

  • concurrent usage,
  • copying, downloading, printing, and
  • access to supplementary materials.

These restrictive licensing conditions may affect student access, especially during peak usage periods, such as in the lead up to an assignment due date.

OER textbooks have no user limits and free students from the cost of purchasing a textbook.  Lower textbook costs have been attributed to increased access and better learning outcomes for students.1

To find a suitable Open textbook search the directories on this page or ask the Library for help.
