E-Books at UC Library

Guide to accessing and using e-books at University of Canberra.

Using E-Books in Your Teaching

E-books can be incorporated in a number of ways into your teaching.

  • Links to e-books can be put in to your Reading List or Canvas site
  • E-books are available from anywhere with an internet connection, at any time
  • Most e-books allow multi user access, so your students can use them at the same time

For information about e-textbooks and incorporating them into your teaching, please see the E-Textbooks for Teaching Staff page of this guide.

E-Book Usage Models

E-Books come in three main usage models:

  • Single user - only one person at a time can use the e-book
  • 3 user access - 3 people at a time can use the e-book
  • Unlimited user - there is no limit to the number of poeple that can access the e-book

The Library will purchase e-books with a usage model that is suitable to your class size and teaching needs, and that will allow sufficient access for your students. Please note that not all books ara available as unlimited user access, the publisher will determine the user numbers and access options.
